I’m writing this with Cyclone Alfred looming over the Gold Coast, expected to make landfall across most of Queensland within the next 24 hours. It’s been an intense and anxious time—wild winds, relentless rain, and a mix of fearmongering and genuine concern, reminiscent of the Covid pandemic. Supermarket shelves are stripped bare, and panic has set in as people brace for the inevitable.
On Christmas night in December 2023, severe storms left us without power—and, as a result, without water—for weeks. This time, at least, we’ve had warnings and a chance to prepare. The cleanup from the 2023/2024 storms already caused delays in my projects and releases, and I can only hope Alfred doesn’t set things back further. We’ll see.
I want to thank everyone who has supported the artists and projects I’ve produced. I’ve never made excuses or tried to capitalise on misfortune as the reason for delays in major releases from Empty Triangles, Sunsetron, and the big one, HELIXIRx. Yet despite social media silence and limited music releases, sales didn’t dry up, and your continued support hasn’t gone unnoticed. I truly appreciate it as do those involved in my productions.
